Sebanyak 31 ekor anak ular kobra Jawa ditemukan di Masjid At Taqwa di
Perumahan Griya Adi, Desa Palur, Kecamatan Mojolaban, Sukoharjo.
Menurut takmir masjid, Lanjar (47), anak ular sangat berbisa dan mematikan itu pertama kali ditemukan pada Sabtu (7/12/2019) lalu.
Dia menceritakan, saat itu ada beberapa jemaah hendak menunaikan salat Ashar, dia menemukan seekor anak ular kobra di tumpukan karpet yang berada di mimbar depan.
“Saat mau salat, di karpet dekat mimbar ditemukan satu ekor ular, pas kita cek di lipatan karpet yang lain ternyata ditemukan ular juga,” ungkapnya saat ditemui TribunSolo.com, Selasa (17/12/2019).
“Pada hari pertama ketemu 6 ekor ular kobra, tetapi semua terpaksa dileyapkan,” katanya.
Menurutnya, ini merupakan kejadian pertama kali yang terjadi di lingkungan masjid yang berada di permukiman.
Karena semakin banyak ditemukan maka penanganan ular ini kemudian dibantu seorang anggota TNI dari Brigrif 6, Janu Wahyu yang juga anggota komunitas pencinta ular, Exalos Indonesia.
Selama empat hari menyisir yang dilakukan Janu, dia menemukan puluhan anak ular kobra Jawa atau yang memiliki nama latin Naja Sputatrix.
“Saya temukan lagi 25 ekor, yang 5 ekor sudah saya rilis atau saya lepas liarkan lagi, ini tinggal 20 ekor,” kata Janu.
Menurut Janu, ular tersebut banyak ditemukan di gudang karpet yang berada di dekat mimbar masjid.
“Ular petama kali saya temukan di tumpukan keramik, dan tumpukan karpet,” jelasnya.
Tumpukan karpet itu kemudian digelar satu per satu di dalam ruangan masjid, dan banyak sekali ditemukan anak ular di sana.
Dia memperkirakan, induk dari anak ular itu masuk ke dalam masjid sekitar dua bulan yang lalu, untuk bertelur lantas pergi.
“Proses penetasan telur ular sekitar dua bulan, dan telur ular ini tidak dierami, jadi setelah si induk bertelur, dia pergi,” terangnya.
Dia menambahkan, ular yang ditemukan sekitar umur 2 hingga 3 minggu dengan panjang sekitar 20 cm.
Untuk mengantisipasi masjid tersebut digunakan sebagai sarang ular, pihaknya dan pengurus masjid menutup lubang di dalam gudang, yang dijadikan tempat untuk pompa air.
