Dari Desa Eliasa, khususnya dari menara, kita memang bisa melihat siluet Kota Darwin (Australia) jika air surut.

Menara Suar Pulau Selaru

“Sudah 23 tahun saya jaga dua aset negara ini, menara suar dan tapal batas, tanpa digaji baik dari pemerintah desa maupun pihak mana saja. Saya lakukan ini dengan suka rela,” ujar Eli, Rabu (8/5/2019), seperti dilansir INTISARI dari Antara.
Eli sendiri mengaku bahwa Kepala Dusun Eliasa sendiri yang memberikan tanggung jawab kepada dirinya utnuk menjaga menara setinggi 35 meter tersebut.
Menara suar itu sendiri sebenarnya dibanung oleh Kementerian Perhubungan RI pada tahun 1996 dan baru rampung pada 1997.

Namun, baru pada 17 Agustus 2003 menara tersebut diresmikan oleh Panglima Komando Daerah Militer XVI/Pattimura Mayjen TNI. Agustadi Sasongko Purnomo.
Belakangan, pengurus Desa Eliasa berupaya untuk menarik kunci menara suar tersebut dari Eli, dan memberi Eli upah dengan cara menjual karcis bagi pengunjung.
Rencana yang disambut baik oleh Eli meski dirinya mengaku masih berharap pemerintah yang lebih tinggi juga turut memperhatikan dirinya.
“Insyaallah jika memang terjawab seperti itu. Tapi kalau dari pemerintah baik dari Kabupaten sampai ke pusat tidak perhatikan juga. Biarlah saya bertahan apa adanya. Sebab menara ini dibangun diatas petuanan dan didalam dusun saya,” tutur Eli.
Eli juga mengaku akan tetap menjaga menara suar tersebut dari orang-orang tak bertanggung jawab.

“Saya merasa punya tanggung jawab sejak 1998 sampai hari ini. Karena kepercayaan yang diberikan dari Kepala Dusun untuk saya,” tutur Eli.
Sampai saat ini, Eli mengaku baru diberikan uang sirih pinang sebanyak Rp50.000 meski lahannya dipakai untuk menara suar. Tanpa pernah dilakukan pembebasan lahan.
Kunci Ditarik
Dihubungi di tempat terpisah, Kepala Desa Eliasa, Rudi Amarduan mengaku bahwa kunci menara memang baru diberikan kepada Eli sejak dirinya menjabat sebagai kepala desa.
“Waktu tahun 1998 itu desa Eliasa masih status dusun. Sebelumnya pagar menara di gembok mati. Lalu kunci dikasih ke Pak Eli itu pada tahun 2014 setelah rehab berat,” papar Rudi.
Sementara itu, Sekretaris Desa Eliasa Thomas Entamoi yang dikonfirmasi mengaku telah berencana akan menarik kunci dari Elkana demi memudahkan jika ada kunjungan.
“Maksud Pemerintah Desa mau ambil itu menjaga kemungkinan ada tamu seperti ini, kita tidak cari-cari dia (Bapak Eli, red) lagi,” sambungnya.
Sekdes mengaku, dalam beberapa kali pertemuan sudah diputuskan untuk ambil kunci dengan pertimbangan dibuat karcis dari desa lalu dipercayakan kepada Eli untuk menjual kepada para pengunjung.
“Nanti setiap bulan baru dipertanggungjawabkan kepada pemerintah desa,” tambahnya.
Rencananya, pemberlakuan karcis itu mulai berjalan awal Mei 2019.
